ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates detected 809 new coronavirus cases after conducting 103,124 tests over the past 24 hours, announced the Ministry of Health on Saturday.

A further 722 people recovered from the virus, with one person dying due to coronavirus-related complications, added the ministry of health via NCEMA on Twitter.

This brings the COVID-19 death toll in the UAE to 404.

The 809 new cases are a slight drop on the previous day, when authorities identified 865 new coronavirus cases after conducting 97,469 tests.

The country has experienced a second spike in coronavirus cases this month, with the highest daily increase in cases in a day reported last week.

Authorities have urged the public to follow social distancing regulations, clarifying on Saturday that gatherings should be limited to 10 immediate family members only. — Agencies
