MANAMA — Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani and Israel’s Regional Cooperation Minister Ofir Akunis have exchanged congratulations on the peace declaration between the two countries, the Bahrain News Agency reported on Monday.

The development comes following the announcement of a peace deal on Friday between Bahrain and Israel brokered by US President Donald Trump.

During the telephone call, the two ministers reviewed aspects of cooperation under the umbrella of peace, which will reflect positively on the economies of the two countries, especially in the commercial, industrial, and tourism sectors.

The region is on the verge of a big boom in various economic sectors that will result in increased trade exchange, attracting joint foreign investments, and creating more job opportunities, the BNA statement read. — SG
