JEDDAH — The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) has elected Sheikh Abdullah Saleh Kamel, the representative of Al Baraka Banking Group, as its new chairman for the current term ending June 2022.

Sheikh Abdullah succeeds the late chairman Sheikh Saleh Kamel.

CIBAFI 40th board of directors’ meeting was held virtually on Thursday. During the meeting, the activities report for the period from May to August 2020 and the membership application from Omani Bank Nizwa were reviewed and approved.
