SASO and Standards Australia seek to boost cooperation in standardization

RIYADH — The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and its Australian counterpart have discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of standardization.

Governor of SASO Dr. Saad Bin Othman Al-Qasabi headed the SASO's delegation during a virtual meeting held with the Chief Executive Officer of Standards Australia Adrian O'Connell, with the participation of a number of officials from both sides.

The two sides reviewed the most important activities and services provided by the two sides and discussed strengthening cooperation and partnership in the various fields of standardization.

They also discussed the importance of work and coordination in the activities of relevant international organizations such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), in addition to contributing to developing the work of these organizations according to International best practices and strategic plans.

The two sides agreed to coordinate and define aspects of cooperation and partnership and to hold periodic meetings in the future to serve the strategic interests of both countries.
