Saudi corona cases fall further

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia on Sunday reported 910 new COVID-19 cases, along with 1,226 recoveries, marking the Kingdom's lowest daily increase in several weeks. There were 987 COVID-19 cases in the country on Saturday. Thirty deaths were also recorded during the past 24 hours, the health ministry said.

This takes the total reported cases in the country to 314,821, and recoveries to 289,667. The death tally has now climbed to 3,870, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.

There are 21,284 active cases in the country, of which 1,545 are critical, the spokesman added.

Makakh again topped the list of cities with new cases and reported 66 infections on Sunday. There were 64 cases in Jeddah, 45 in Riyadh, 41 in Madinah, 39 in Tabuk, 36 in Jazan, 28 in Taif, 25 in Abu Arish, 22 in Baesh, 20 each in Dammam and Al-Harjah.

The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said.
