Bahrain reports 278 COVID-19 cases, 515 recoveries

MANAMA — The Bahrain health ministry has reported 278 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, along with 515 recoveries.

Of the new cases, 111 were among expatriate workers, 165 were contacts of active cases, and two were travel related.

No new deaths were reported. The death toll remains at 189.

As many as 6,955 COVID-19 tests were carried out on Aug. 29, the ministry said, taking the total number of recoveries to 48,275.

There are currently 32 COVID-19 cases in a critical condition, and 52 cases receiving treatment. A total of 2,895 cases are stable out of a total of 2,972 active cases. — Agencies
