KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Friday recorded 633 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 83,578, according to a statement from the health ministry carried by Kuwait News Agency.

The ministry announced three more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19, raising the total number of virus-related fatalities in the country to 525.

According to the health ministry's spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, there were currently 94 patients receiving treatment in intensive care units.

The spokesman also said that a total of 4,317 additional coronavirus tests were done over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of COVID-19 examinations conducted in the country to 607,921 so far.

Earlier in the day, the ministry also said that 798 more patients recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, taking to the total number of recoveries from the deadly disease in Kuwait to 75,320.

Recently, Kuwait has eased coronavirus-related restrictions.
