JEDDAH — A total of 104 islands are strewn like pearls in the middle of the Red sea on the white shores of Umluj.

Away from the hustle and bustle of cities, Umluj ranks as one of the top distinctive areas in Saudi Arabia. This is because of its geographical location and wonderful marine nature, which makes it a destination for welfare and recreation.

Umluj governorate lies in Tabuk region in the Kingdom's northwest.

It is a veritable paradise for nature lovers, adventurous outdoor types and those interested in health, wellness and having unusual cultural experiences.

“I admired the turquoise shores, the white sands and the vibrant islands which are full of life, away from modern life technologies. The Umluj governorate is located on the Red Sea coast, between Al-Wajh city in the north and Yanbu city in the south,” Al- Sharif said.

He added, however, that the shores of Umluj "are considered today as one of the most important tourist destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region due to its natural tourism potential in all seasons of the year."

Al-Sharif has great admiration for the turquoise shores and white sands. Some of them are natural marine reserves rich of marine life and some of them have settled in a large number of birds also. Al-Sharif emphasized that Umluj Islands are characterized by an unparalleled environmental diversity in the islands of the Arabian Peninsula.
