RIYADH — Two persons were arrested for hunting in royal reserves, Maj. Raed Al-Maliki, a spokesman for the Special Forces for Environmental Security, said.

The first individual was in possession of an unlicensed air rifle and 22 birds that he had caught in the Royal King Khaled Reserve in Al-Thumama, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the official as saying on Saturday.

The second violator was arrested for hunting in the King Abdul Aziz Royal Reserve in Shu’aib Al-Tiri. He was found in possession of two air rifles, 531 rounds and 12 birds, Al-Maliki said.

The official called on Saudi citizens and residents to abide by environmental regulations, insisting there would be no compromise in enforcing the sanctions imposed on those violating these regulations.
