Marginal decline in Saudi corona cases; 36 more die

Saudi Arabia on Wednesday recorded 1,363 new coronavirus infections during the past 24 hours, taking the number of overall cases to 302,686. On Tuesday, the Kingdom registered 1,409 cases after the numbers hovered around 1,250 in the past couple of days.

The Kingdom also recorded 1,180 recoveries from coronovirus. It means 274,091 patients have recovered from the virus till date, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.

Thirty-six deaths because of the infection were also reported. The overall death tally now stands at 3,506. There are 25,089 active cases in the country, of which 1,725 are critical, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said.

Jazan with 109 cases topped the list of new corona infections on Wednesday. It was followed by 106 cases in Makkah, 57 in Madinah, 56 in Jeddah, 52 in Hafr Al-Batin, 49 in Riyadh, 48 in Hufof, 45 in Sabya, 44 each in Abha and Abu Arish, 36 in Dammam, 35 in Taif, 26 in Khamis Mushayt, 24 in Baish and 22 in Najran. The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, the spokesman said.
