Terror suspect coming from Turkey held at UK’s airport

LONDON — A man was arrested on Monday at Gatwick Airport near London over a suspected terrorism offense.

Police detained the 25-year-old suspect at around 4 a.m. on Monday morning after he arrived on a flight from Turkey, the London’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

He was arrested on "suspicion of possession of material likely to be useful to a terrorist" .

The man — arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act — has been taken into custody at a central London police station, where he remains.

Officers are searching for an address in north London as part of the ongoing investigation. — Agencies
