UAE reports 229 new COVID-19 cases

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates has confirmed 229 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, but no new fatalities, raising the total number of COVID-19 cases to 64,541, the official WAM news agency reported.

The country’s death toll stood at 364 on Monday as the number of recoveries increased to 57,794 after 100 individuals who had previously tested positive for the virus recovered.

As part of the health authorities efforts to increase the testing capacity, 71,322 additional tests were processed over the past 24 hours, according to WAM. The number of total tests reached six million.

The health ministry also said the that the newly identified cases are undergoing treatment.
