JEDDAH —
Key Arab countries have pledged their full support for the security and sovereignty of Iraq, condemned the Turkish attacks and called for an immediate end to all Turkish military operations inside Iraqi territories.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussain made several contacts with his Arab counterparts over the blatant Turkish drone attack that resulted in the killing of two Iraqi army officers in the Sidakan area in the northeastern province of Irbil, Kurdistan, according to a statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The aim of the contacts was to apprise the Arab brothers of the details of the attack, underlining the importance of concerted Arab efforts in the face of dangerous Turkish escalations and the need for a united stand to force Ankara not to repeat these violations and stop the military incursions into Iraqi territories.

The Iraqi minister called his Saudi, Egyptian, Jordanian, and Kuwait counterparts in the past 24 hours. He also contacted the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

Meanwhile, Turkey said on Thursday that it would continue its cross-border operations against Kurdish militants in northern Iraq if Baghdad continued to overlook their presence in the region, and urged the Iraqi authorities to cooperate with Ankara in this regard.
