Saudi Gazette report

AL-AHSA —
The intensive care unit (ICU) bed capacity in Al-Ahsa hospitals has been increased by 120 percent, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday. The measure is part of the efforts to upgrade and improve health services in the region to meet the health needs of citizens and residents, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a press release from the ministry as saying.

This step comes as a continuation of the ministry’s announcement to add around 3,500 ICU beds within 90 days in various hospitals in all regions of the Kingdom to provide the highest level of medical care to citizens and residents. It also comes as a continuation of applying the highest precautionary standards and preventive measures to address the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the ministry said.
