Kuwaiti woman survives after nephew stabs her 8 times over family dispute

KUWAIT CITY — A Kuwaiti woman narrowly escaped death after her nephew stabbed her as many as eight times in her sleep, with the intention to kill her, over family disputes, Arab Times, an English-language daily, reported on Monday citing a report in an Arabic newspaper.

The woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition and the suspect was arrested and detained at a local police station, the report added.

The Kuwaiti police with paramedics rushed to the spot and found the woman in a pool of blood after receiving a message about the incident at the operations room of the Ministry of Interior, the report added.

The incident took place in the Al-Dhaher area in Al Ahmadi governorate. The suspect is believed to be in his 30s. Police have seized the weapon with which he stabbed the woman. A case of attempted murder has been registered against him.
