KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait reported four coronavirus-related deaths, 514 new cases, and 713 recoveries during the last 24 hours.

The latest cases comprise 359 Kuwaitis and 155 foreign residents, health ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said on Sunday.

All the new cases were in touch with previously infected people or are being investigated for sources of infection and identifying those who were in contact, he added.

He said 7,716 people are receiving treatment in the country. Out of these, 115 are serious cases that need intensive care.

The virus-related death toll is now 478 in Kuwait.

In the past 24 hours, Kuwait has conducted 3,223 new tests, bringing the total to 532,353.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 71,713 people have been infected with coronavirus in the country, but 63,519 have recovered.

Kuwait has recently set into motion a plan to gradually return to normal life.

Last week, the Gulf country started reducing a nighttime curfew to six hours a day while 50 percent of government and private sector employees were allowed to return to work. — Agencies
