UAE records 239 new coronavirus cases, 360 recoveries

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Saturday recorded 239 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 60,999, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement carried by WAM.

The new patients, all of whom are in stable health condition and receiving necessary health care, were detected after the ministry carried out 42,428 additional coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours among different segments of the society, using state-of-the-art technologies.

The extensive testing is in line with the ministry’s plan to expand and increase the scope of tests in the country with the aim of early detection of coronavirus patients and those who are in contact with them in order to isolate them.

The ministry announced that a total of 360 more coronavirus patients have completely recovered from the deadly disease after receiving the necessary medical care, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 54,615.

The ministry also announced that no deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
