MUSCAT— Oman’s Ministry of Health announced on Friday 1,145 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Sultanate to 73,791.

Of the new cases, 1,047 are Omani citizens and 98 are expatriates from different countries, the ministry said.

According to the ministry statement, the death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 359, adding four more fatalities to the previous day tally.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,658 more patients have completely recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total number of recoveries so far in the Sultanate to 53,007.

The ministry called on everyone to adhere to social distancing instructions issued by the concerned authorities, as well as staying at home and not going out unless for absolute necessity.
