RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s embassies in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan have announced the opening of land ports for the return of Saudi citizens and their family members without prior permission effective from today, Thursday.

The land ports of Al-Khafji, Al-Raqai, Al-Batha and King Fahd Causeway were opened to facilitate the return of citizens from the neighboring Gulf States.

The embassy in Kuwait said that Saudi citizens could enter the Kingdom along with their spouses, children, parents and their accompanying domestic workers in compliance with the precautionary measures and preventive protocols to stem the spread of coronavirus.

The Saudi embassy in Bahrain also announced the return of citizens who are in Bahrain via King Fahd Causeway without prior permission.

The embassy instructed the Saudi transit passengers who are arriving in Bahrain International Airport that the coronavirus precautionary measures that are in force in Bahrain, including a10-day quarantine, will be applied to them.

The Khafji port is known as the first land border port for the Kingdom with Kuwait, while Raqai is the second land border port with Kuwait and King Fahd Causeway is the only land port between the Kingdom and Bahrain. Al-Batha is the Kingdom’s land border post with the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.

Later in the day, Saudi Arabia's Embassy in Jordan also said the Saudi citizens living in Jordan can return to the Kingdom by road.
