Kuwait emir to travel to US for medical treatment

JEDDAH — Kuwait Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is scheduled to leave for the United States on Thursday for completing his medical treatment following a successful surgery recently.

In a statement carried by Kuwait News Agency, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah said that the emir will leave for the US early Thursday based on the advice of his medical team to complete treatment following the successful surgery.

The minister prayed to Allah the Almighty for a speedy recovery, well-being and good health for the emir, the statement quoted the minister as saying.

The statement, however, did not disclose the nature of treatment the emir will receive in the US and what kind of surgery he underwent recently in Kuwait.

Sheikh Sabah had gone to the US in September last year for medical tests.
