ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates of Wednesday recorded 275 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 55,848, according to a statement from the country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention carried by state news agency WAM.

The new cases, which were detected after the health authorities conducted over 48,000 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing methods, are in a stable health condition and receiving the necessary care, the ministry said.

The Ministry reiterated its aim to expand the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.

Meanwhile, a total of 393 more patients have completely recovered from the deadly infection, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 46,418.
