King, Crown Prince congratulate Macron on French National Day

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, sent messages of congratulations to French President Emmanuel Macron on the anniversary of his country's National Day, Saudi Press Agency reported.

King Salman wished President Macron constant good health and happiness and his people steady progress and prosperity.

In his message, Crown Prince expressed his best wishes for Macron’s good health and happiness and more progress and prosperity for the people of France.

The French National Day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération (Festival of the Federation) which celebrated the unity of the French people on July 14, 1790.

Celebrations are held throughout France. The oldest and largest regular military parade in Europe is held on July 14 every year on the Champs-Élysées in Paris in front of the French president along with other officials and foreign guests.
