ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Thursday announced 400 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections to 49,469, according to the country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention.

The new cases, all of which are in stable health condition and receiving necessary medical care, were detected after conducting more than 65,000 additional COVID-19 tests, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, a total of 504 more patients have completely recovered from the deadly infection, raising the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the country to 38,664.

The ministry said there are 10,805 active cases receiving medical care at various health facilities across the country.

The ministry also announced that one patient has died from COVID-19 infection, taking the total number of the virus-related fatalities in the country to 317.

The ministry expressed its regret and sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for all patients.
