MUSCAT —
Oman on Friday recorded 852 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the Sultanate to 27,670, according to a statement from the country’s health ministry carried by Oman News Agency.



Of the newly detected cases, 484 are expatriates and 368 are Omani citizens and, the health ministry said.

The ministry also said that six more patients have succumbed to the virus, taking the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the Sultanate to 125.

Meanwhile, a total of 710 more patients have completely recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 13,974, the ministry said.

The ministry added that there are 102 patients receiving intensive care treatment and it has conducted 3,317 coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours.
