KUWAIT CITY — There were 511 new coronavirus infections in Kuwait during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 36,431, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday.

Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad also announced the death of two persons due to the virus, which brings the total number of virus-related deaths in the country to 298.

The new infections involve 234 Kuwaiti citizens, 81 Indians, 53 Egyptians and other people of different nationalities.

Currently there are 198 patients getting treatment in intensive care units, the spokesman said.

Earlier the health ministry announced the recovery of 776 patients from coronavirus, bringing the overall tally to 27,531. — Agencies
