Saudi corona cases decline; 39 new deaths recorded

RIYADH — New coronavirus cases in the Kingdom showed a decline on Saturday to stand at 3,366 infections as against the record highest of Friday's 3,921 cases.

Health ministry said that 39 more people succumbed to the virus during the past 24 years, raising the total number of COVID-19 infections to 123,308 and the virus-related fatalities to 932 in the Kingdom.

The ministry added that 1,519 more people have recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 82,548.

Over 30 percent of new cases were recorded in Riyadh where 1,089 infections were announced. Jeddah recorded 527 new cases, Makkah 310, Dammam 227 and Madinah 191, Al-Khobar 163 and 114 in Qatif. There were 91 new infections in Hufof, 57 in Taif, 48 in Safwa, 47 in Jubail, 35 in Hafr Al-Batin, 34 in Mazahimah, 33 in Buraidah, 27 in Al-Kharj, 23 in Yanbu and 19 each in Ras Tanura and Ad-Diriyah.

The rest of the cases were scattered in different small cities and governorates across the Kingdom, the ministry said.
