MUSCAT — Oman recorded 1,117 new cases of the novel coronavirus, taking the total number of the confirmed COVID-19 infections in the Sultanate to 21,071, the state news agency ONA said citing a statement from the country’s health ministry.

The health ministry also announced six more deaths from COVID-19, raising the total number of fatalities in the country to 96.

There are 92 patients receiving intensive care treatment, the ministry added.

The newly detected cases include 470 Omani citizens and 647 expatriates, the Health Ministry said in the statement.

Acording to the ministry, a total of 7,489 patients have completely recovered from the virus.
