KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Friday reported 520 new coronavirus cases and six more deaths, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections to 34,952 and the virus-related fatalities to 285, according to a statement from the country’s Health Ministry carried by Kuwait News Agency.

Earlier in the day, the ministry also announced the recovery of 911 more patients, raising the total recoveries in the country to 25,048.

Addressing a daily press briefing, the health ministry official spokesman gave a breakdown of the nationalities of the new cases. The spokesman said that of the total 520 infections, 232 are Kuwaiti citizens, 86 are Indians, 53 Bangladeshis, 39 Egyptians and the rest are from different countries nationalities.

Currently, 9,619 patients are receiving treatment, including 172 in ICU, the spokesman added.

The health authorities conducted 2,985 coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of COVID-19 tests in the country to 330,129, according to the spokesman.
