RIYADH —
The Palestinian presidency on Tuesday praised Saudi Arabia's stances on supporting the rights and just cause of the Palestinian people and rejecting Israeli plans to annex Palestinian lands, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The presidency said in a statement that Saudi Arabia's council of ministers chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman reaffirmed Kingdom’s unwavering positions toward the Palestinian issue.

On May 21, the Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry had also issued a statement declaring its official rejection of Israel's plan to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.

Meanwhile, in a separate but related development on Wednesday, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, who is in Jerusalem on an official visit, said that Germany and its European partners have "serious concerns" over Israel's plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.

German foreign minister said: "Our honest and serious concerns... about the possible consequences of such a step,” according to an AFP report.

After a meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Mass added: "Together with the European Union, we believe that annexation would not be compatible with international law."
