MUSCAT — Oman on Tuesday recorded 712 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections in the Sultanate to 18,198, the Omani news agency ONA reported citing a statement from the country’s health ministry.

Of the new cases, 362 were of Omani citizens and 350 of expatriates, the ministry did not provide the details on the nationalities of the infected residents.

The ministry also announced two more virus-related deaths, taking the total number of fatalities in the Sultanate to 83.

Meanwhile, a total of 359 more patients have completely recovered, raising the number of total recoveries in the country to 4,152 so far.

There are 85 patients receiving intensive care treatment, the ministry said.

The health authorities have conducted 2,688 coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours, it added.
