Oman registers 778 new coronavirus cases

MUSCAT — Oman on Thursday reported 778 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate to 14,316, according to a statement from the country’s health ministry carried by state news agency ONA.

Among the newly detected cases, 513 were of expatriates and 265 of Omani citizens, the statement added.

Currently, 58 people are in intensive care, and a total of 226 are being treated in health care facilities, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries and deaths in the Sultanate stands at 3,451 recoveries and 67 deaths, according to the figures provided by the ministry.

The ministry again called on everyone to adhere to social distancing instructions issued by the concerned authorities, as well as to stay at home and do not go out unless necessary.
