Over half a million people benefit from coronavirus training courses

RIYADH — The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has organized 11 training courses remotely on coronavirus since its outbreak, benefiting more than 500,000 individuals from different regions of the Kingdom.

The training courses, include many programs, most notably infection control, disasters and crisis management, first aid, in addition to health safety program for frontline workers.

During May, the number of beneficiaries exceeded 240,000. More than 40,000 individuals benefited from the infection control program, about 39,000 individuals benefited from disasters and crisis management program and around 68,000 trainees benefited from the Prince Naif program for first aid. As for the health safety program for front-line workers, more than 22,000 trainees benefited from it.

SARC also held training programs on electrocardiogram (ECG), ventilators, endotracheal intubation, in addition to the basics of volunteering program and Prince Naif program to train blind people on first aid, benefiting thousands of people.

Holding these training programs comes within SRCA strategy to confront coronavirus (COVID-19), limit its spread and prepare health personnel working on the frontlines to confront it under the title “We Strive to Save Lives".
