ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Friday announced 747 new coronavirus cases, pushing the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 21,831, according to a statement from the country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention carried by official news agency WAM.

A total of 398 more patients have completely recovered after receiving necessary treatment, raising the total number of recoveries in the UAE to 7,328 so far.

The ministry also announced two deaths as a result of COVID-19 complications. The total number of deaths in the country has reached 210, it added.

The newly detected cases, who are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary care, were identified after the ministry conducted more than 38,000 additional COVID-19 tests among citizens and residents over the past few days.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients, calling on the public to cooperate with health authorities and comply with all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing protocols, to ensure the safety and protection of the public.
