RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman sent a cable of congratulations on Thursday to the newly appointed Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, on the formation of the new government under his leadership after winning the confidence of the parliament.

King Salman wished the Iraqi prime minister all success on behalf of the people and the government of Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, made a phone call to Al-Kadhimi to congratulate him on the government formation and to express his best wishes for Iraq and its people.

During the call, the Crown Prince affirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for Iraq's development and security, and the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations.

For his part, the Iraqi premier thanked the Crown Prince for his good wishes. He underlined the importance of relations between the countries and expressed his keenness to push for more cooperation. — SPA
