RIYADH – “I am sure that those who saw the film will not forget it,” this is what Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, said on Saturday during the daily press briefing on the developments of coronavirus, about one of the fatalities of the pandemic. He mentioned about a short film posted on the Twitter page of the ministry that recounts the horrific tale of an elderly Saudi man who contracted the virus from his infected son due to carelessness. The film has become an instant hit among Saudis.

Abdel Ali urged all to watch the film on the ministry’s educational portal titled “Live Healthy” on Twitter page account. “There are sad and unfortunate stories that we do not want to repeat as most of you watched the story of the coronavirus case number 14. It was a painful story for an elderly citizen, to whom the coronavirus was transmitted from his son unintentionally,” he said.

The spokesman noted that the Saudi man was infected with the virus after ignoring the preventive and precautionary measures by going out and meeting friends at rest houses. He was remorseful to see his father contracted and succumbed to the virus due to his negligence in following the instructions.
