Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — There will be no change in the timing for the first call for prayer (adhan) for Isha prayer during the holy month of Ramadan, according to Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh.

In a circular issued on Wednesday to all branches of the ministry all over the Kingdom, the minister said that the timing for adhan for Isha prayer during Ramadan will be the usual timing followed in all other months without any delay in light of the temporary closure of mosques in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

It was customary in the Kingdom to delay the timing of adhan for Isha prayer by half an hour during Ramadan. The ministry earlier issued an order to suspend second call for prayer (iqamat) due to the temporary halting of congregational prayers and Friday prayers in mosques all over the Kingdom other than the Two Holy Mosques.
