JEDDAH — In a unique experiment, MBC broadcasters started presenting news bulletin from their homes in the wake of the curfew measures following the outbreak of the coronavirus.

News Anchor Ghiwa Ibrahim, along with a number of her colleagues, presented News at 9 pm on MBC1 on Sunday from her home.

In her introduction, she said: “The bulletin is on the same time, but it is outside the walls of the studio, specifically from my house.”

Commenting on the experiment, news official at MBC Musaed Al-Thebaiti said on his Twitter account that despite the complexities of television, including pictures, videos, sound and lighting, as well as its connection to live transmission involving several parties, coronavirus experience confirmed that television journalism is one of the professions that can be carried out from home too. “News anchors and editors have made scripts for their bulletins from their homes,” he added.
