Oman’s coronavirus cases rise to 1,019 with 109 new cases

MUSCAT — Oman on Thursday reported 109 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of the COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate to 1,019 and four deaths, Oman News Agency reported citing a statement from the Ministry of Health.

Out of the total 109 new cases, there are 12 Omanis and 97 non-Omanis, the statement added.

According to the statement, 45 more coronavirus patients have recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 176 in the country.

The ministry called on people to strictly follow health isolation measures and to wash hands with water and soap frequently as well as to observe social distancing to prevent the spread of the highly contagious virus. — SG
