Qatar cases climb to 3,711 with 382 fresh infections

DUBAI -- The number of coronavirus cases in Qatar rose to 3,711 after 382 new infections were confirmed, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.

Some of the new cases had been in contact with previously infected individuals, the ministry said, adding that all 382 people have been placed under complete isolation and are receiving the necessary medical care.

A total of 33 people recovered from the virus in Qatar in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 406.

The number of coronavirus fatalities in the country currently stands at seven.

Qatar, along with other countries in the Arabian Gulf, has ramped up its testing efforts to contain the outbreak. The health ministry issued a total of 54,484 coronavirus tests so far.

The ministry urged citizens and residents to stay at home and adhere to instructions issued by the World Health Organization to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. -- Al Arabiya English
