Jeddawis can now buy meat directly from slaughterhouse through phone app

JEDDAH — Jeddah Municipality has launched an electronic app for smart phones to facilitate fresh meat delivery to consumers directly from the main slaughterhouse, Saudi Press Agency reported early Tuesday.

The application launch by municipality’s General Administration of Slaughterhouses and Markets Department has been taken in view of the current situation arising out the cornoavirus pandemic.

Explaining the move, Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Zahrani, undersecretary of the municipalities of the sub-municipalities, says that it aims to complement preventive and precautionary measures taken by the government for the health and safety of citizens as well as residents to satisfy the needs of consumers during the curfew period.
