RIYADH —
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MMRA) on Monday started issuing new curfew passes to workers of the firms engaged by different municipalities to perform different tasks. This also includes private sector firms engaged in activities that come under the jurisdiction of MMRA.

The new passes can be obtained through MMRA’s Baladi port. The unified request forms nullify the old passes, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Monday.

The ministry has instructed owners of firms to access “Baladi” platform, select the icon for issuance of permit for movement during curfew for exempted activities. They can also register the workers requiring mobility permits. The application will be referred to the pertinent municipality in Riyadh city for approval.

The ministry said if those issued mobility permits are moving by bus, then one permit is issued for the driver. It said that the firm owner will be informed on approval by SMS. He can then print his permit via “Baladi” platform.

To obtain approval from the Ministry of Interior (MOI), firm owners must get their movement permits stamped by paying a visit to the MOI offices or via the MOI representatives in the municipal sectors.

The MMRA urged all owners of firms to expedite submitting applications for permits via “Baladi” platform to avoid their businesses and interests being delayed.

This is with the main objective of making all activities, measures and procedures to be in compliance with the government directives in various sectors, it stressed.
