ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates reported 300 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to, 2659, the state news agency reported quoting the country’s the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Addressing a daily press briefing on coronavirus developments, which was also joined by UAE’s Minister of Health and Community Protection and other top government officials, the official spokesman for the health sector Dr. Farida Al Hosani said all the newly detected cases belong to different nationalities. They are in stable health condition and are receiving necessary health care.

She also announced that 53 people have recovered from the deadly virus, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 239.

In a press conference held on Wednesday, the ministry’s official spokesperson Dr Farida Al Hosani revealed that 53 infected people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 239.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Abdul Rahman Al Owais pointed out the UAE has so far conducted a record number of 539,195 medical examinations to detect the virus in a short period.

Lauding the citizens and residents for showing their remarkable commitment in the fight against coronavirus, the minister said: “The exceptional circumstances experienced by the world proved the strong solidarity and unity of the UAE society."
