King Salman, Chinese president discuss efforts to combat coronavirus

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman discussed on Friday efforts to fight coronavirus with the Chinese President Xi Jinping during a telephone call, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The King congratulated the president on China's efforts to fight the virus and said that it was important to learn from China’s experience of tackling the pandemic.

For his part, the Chinese President praised the relations between the two countries, appreciating the Kingdom's initiative in helping China from the beginning of the crisis.

President Xi stressed China’s desire to coordinate with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom to cooperate in combating the pandemic in every possible way.

The Chinese President appreciated Saudi Arabia’s role as the president of the G20 Summit and its efforts to hold the extraordinary virtual summit last Thursday chaired by King Salman. — SG
