WPCA holds MBS Vision 2030 T20 NCC awards ceremony

JEDDAH — Western Providence Cricket Association (WPCA) held a glittering awards distribution ceremony at the conclusion of the MBS Vision 2030 T20 National Cricket Championship (NCC) 2019 final of all three division at WPCA Sports Complex.

The tournament was organized by WPCA for promotion and development of game of cricket in Saudi Arabia in coordination with Saudi Sports for All Federations (SFA) and Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center (SCC).

The ceremony was chaired by WPCA Chairman Junaid Iskandar, and on behalf of Faisal Al-Turki, president, Nesma Holding Co., Waleed Abdul Mohsin, HR manager, was chief guest.

Other guests were Paul Van Schaik, director organizational development SADAFCO, Anjum Iqbal Warich of Fogg perfumes Saudi Arabia, Syed Qasim Ali Naqvi, Mohammad Iftikhar Hussain, Syed Mussarat Khalil from SCC, Elyas Mustafa, Zafar Khursheed, Shafiq Ahmed, Sohail Shah, Khalil Dawood, Attaur Rahman and Dr. Ziauddin from WPCA management Committee attended.

The ceremony began with recitation of verses from the Qur'an by Hafiz Jaffer. Dr. Ziauddin conducted the ceremony. He welcomed and thanked all the sponsors, guests, teams officials and players.

On behalf of SCC, Qasim Naqvi gave a brief introduction of the tournament. He praised Elyas Mustafa for his excellent ground arrangements and refreshment for spectators.

Junaid Iskandar congratulated teams and players of winner and runner-up and distributed prizes to them.

In Premier division: Winner Abu Dawood Trading (Captain Abdullah Zahid Quraishi). Runners-up Hyderabad Sharks (Captain Syed Arif Hashmi). Individual performances: Best batsman Mohammad Shahzad (Hyderabad Sharks). Best bowler Imran Yousuf (Abu Dawood). Tournament best player Shoaib Ali (Abu Dawood). Best wicket keeper Jafar Bashir (Abu Dawood). Hat-Trick (Rameez, Abdul Wahid, Shoaib Ali).

In Morning division: Winner SADAFCO (Captain Abdul Rahman). Runners-up Jeddah Zalmi (Captain Anjum Raza). Best batsman Humayun Khan (Saudi Green), Best bowler and player of the tournament Rabbi Wali (Air Homes). Best wicket keeper Gul Jan (SADAFCO).

In Afternoon division: Jotun Penguin (Winner) Captain Shabbir Ahmed and Stallions (Runners-up) Captain Waqas Munawwar received trophies. Best batsman Rehan Mughal (Jotun), Best bowler Malik Aftab (Jotun) Player of Tournament Salman Nadeem (Al-Hukamaa International), Wicket keeper Rehan Mughal (Jotun). Hat-Trick by Rehan Siddiqui (Al-Hukamaa International).
