Indian community to celebrate Kerala State Day on Friday

JEDDAH — Consulate General of India, Jeddah, in association with Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN) and Keralite community of Jeddah, is conducting ‘Kerala State Day’ on Friday, Nov. 29 at the Consulate premises.

Indian Consul General Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheikh will inaugurate the festival in a colorful ceremony to be held in the presence of the Consulate staff and the Indian community leaders.

In a statement, the Consul General Sheikh has invited all members of the Indian community, Saudi citizens and friends of India to attend the program, which will start at 3 p.m. and continue until 11.00 p.m.

The event is organized as part of promoting culture, tourism and investment opportunities in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

Hundreds of artists, mostly students, will showcase India’s cultural diversity with a variety of folk art forms at the festival.

The cultural fiesta, featuring several traditional performances and classical dance forms including Tiruvathirakali, Kathakali, Mappila Pattu, Oppana, Daff Muttu, Kolkkali, and Kerala fusion dance will be staged.
