More than 1.3m Umrah visas issued in 3 months

MAKKAH —
The Ministry of Haj and Umrah has issued as many as 1,339,376 Umrah visas during the past three months, it said in a statistical report.

The ministry said a total of 1,133,365 Umrah pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom of whom 835,874 have left for their respective homes while 297,491 are still in the Kingdom to complete their rituals.

According to the ministry, 1,088,608 pilgrims have arrived by air, 44,750 by land and seven by sea.

The ministry said Pakistan with 319,494 pilgrims topps all countries in the number of Umrah pilgrims followed by Indonesia from where 306,461 pilgrims have arrived.

It said there were 195,345 pilgrims from India, 50,841 from Malaysia, 50,775 from Turkey, 36,021 from Bangladesh, 28,785 from Algeria, 18,146 from Morocco, 16,851 from Iraq and 16,223 from Jordan.
