MWL chief meets with religious leaders, intellectuals in Utah

UTAH — The Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa was received by Utah Governor Gary Herbert following an official invitation.

Herbert and Dr. Al-Issa discussed a prospect of cooperation and a range of issues of common interest, stressing the desire to cooperate to achieve common goals.

Dr. Al-Issa visited the Mormon Headquarters in Utah, where he met with the president and his assistants, where they reviewed ways of supporting bridging relations between followers of religions and cultures to promote peace and positive harmony among all.

Dr. Al-Issa met a number of editors and intellectuals where he briefed them on Makkah Document which was completed for the first time in Islamic history, a consensus between 27 denominations and sects like more than 1200 mufti and senior scholars of the Islamic world.

He also visited the University of Utah. He presented a lecture about the MWL's efforts, attended by University of Utah President Ruth V. Watkins, officials, faculty members, and students. — SPA
