RIYADH — Dazzled and mesmerized spectators gave a standing ovation to Ghala Al-Dousary when she played Saudi national anthem on her oud. She presented her captivating music at the Nabd location in the middle of the capital city as part of the ongoing Riyadh Season.
Ghala teaches oud music to female students in special classes. She started playing the oud as an amateur about seven years ago but became a professional when she was encouraged and supported by the people around her.
She thanked the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and its chairman Turki Al-Asheikh for giving her the opportunity to present her composition.
"I strongly thank the GEA and its chairman for enabling me to play the oud before a large number of spectators," she wrote on her Twitter account.
