DAMMAM — DCA First XI got off to a winning start in the Eastern Province Cricket Association organized Aftab Spices EPCA Ka Junoon T20 Cricket Tourney, the 1st event of the season 2019-20.

Forty-two teams are participating in the tournament, which is divided into 3 divisions — namely Premier Division (10 teams), Prime Division (8 teams) and First Division (24 teams). The Tournament is sponsored by Aftab Spices.

First Division

In the opening match, DCA First XI CC defeated Jana Marine Young Guns CC by 5 runs. DCAFXI compiled 187 for 5 in 20 overs. Faisal Bashir smashed 74 off 37 and Rehan hit 30. Arsalan claimed 3 while Shoaib took 2 wickets.

In reply, JMYGCC was restricted to 185 runs. Bilal played a brilliant innings of 82 and Shoaib hit 45 off 26. Saeed grabbed 2 wickets while Avias and Sajid claimed 1 wicket each. Faisal was declared man of the match. The atch was played on grass in Aramco Dhahran facility.

Bilal, sponsor of the tournament, encouraged the players and teams to continue displaying the same spirit in the season. Farhat, EPCA president, appreciated the DCA members for the development done in the region. — SG
