‘Media Excellence Prize’ for National Day launched

RIYADH —
The Ministry of Media on Monday launched an annual award titled “Media Excellence Prize” for the National Day, to honor the best creative works pertaining to the Kingdom’s celebrations of the National Day on Sept. 23.

There will be prizes in 10 categories as part of the National Day celebration and these include the best media initiative from a government entity; the best video from the private sector; the best TV production; the best radio production; the best national song; the best national poem; the best photograph; the best media coverage; the best creative work in the social media for individuals; and the best newspaper article, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

This year’s debut award aims to increase the interaction of individuals and institutions on the occasion of the celebration of the 89th National Day, with enriching it through creative media participation and highlighting the role of media professionals and innovators during the event.

It also aims to highlight the best media products and campaigns, carried out by government agencies, as well as private sector and community members, including citizens and expatriates on this precious occasion.

The award’s objectives also include encouraging distinguished media works and motivate segments of society and sectors to showcase their creative works in the celebration of the 89th National Day.

Entries and nominations for the award began on Sept. 9 and will continue till Sept. 24 through awards.media.gov.sa, the digital platform dedicated to the award. First prize winners will be announced in each branch of the award at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Media to be scheduled later in September.
